Transit-Oriented Development (TOD)

Mixed-use (residential, retail, office, recreation, etc.) areas incorporating convenient and safe public transit access as a cornerstone of the overall development. Traditionally, TOD is often centered around a rail or bus transit station and is surrounded by the highest Intensity of development within one-quarter mile (approximately a five-minute walk) from the transit station, transitioning to lower-density development out to one-half mile (a ten-minute walk) or further.
